$120 p/p (for 6 or more people)

$150 p/p (for less then 6 people)

On this tour you’ll be paddling across the stunning Broadwater over to South Stradbroke Island. With our time on the island, we want to teach you about the land that we’ll be walking on and the water that surrounds us. Just some of the things you will learn on this tour are about the native flora and fauna, how the island was formed, natural history, edible plants of the area, and how to harvest your own bait to catch fish. Our goal with the full day tour is to take you to a wild place and show what it is to live simply. Understanding the environment around you is a great thing to learn and it can change the way you look at nature. South Stradbroke Island is a great place to learn, as there is so much wildlife on the island to observe. After walking around the island’s many walking tracks, we’ll be stopping for some lunch. For lunch we will be having a variety of entrees you’re bound to enjoy. Our meals will be made up of some great local produce, and we’ll get the billy boiling for some tea and coffee as we relax for a little while on the beach. After re-fueling, we will begin some bait collection around the island and use the bait for a bit of fishing from the banks or kayak. There are many fish species in the Broadwater that love nice fresh bait. Some of the species you may catch are bream, flathead and whiting, which are all good-eating fish. If you catch a fish of legal size limit, and would like to keep it to eat, we’ll show you how to gut, scale and fillet the fish and you may take it home for your dinner. If you prefer catch and release fishing, we’ll teach you how to quickly handle the fish and release it with minimal harm. if you do not want to fish you may sit back, relax and enjoy your time on the island. You will go away from this big day on the island with a broader understanding of the natural area, and how nature can provide fun, food and amazing wild experiences. Join us!!!

Yak to Track Challenge

Our newest and most enjoyed adventure challenge!

The Yak to Track, Team Challenge is a Kayaking and trail running course that Bush to Coast Expeditions has developed over several years of experience. It’s an exciting, wild and demanding challenge. The course involves a 1.3km kayak paddle over to South Stradbroke island, followed by ether a 3.6 or an 8.5km trail run through the southern end of South Stradbroke island. Once the group finishes the final 1.3km paddle back to the mainland they are greeted with a buffet breakfast feast in the park, on the banks of the stunning Broadwater.

We would highly recommend this challenge to teams of people looking for a new form of fitness and adventure. At Bush to Coast, we know that it’s a very rewarding yet challenging experience. To navigate currents and varying weather conditions on a kayak can be a challenging task. The running trails on the island are of varying terrain but consist mainly of soft sand. This calf burning run takes participants on a journey through some beautiful native mangrove, melaleuca forests and vast sand dunes. The varying terrain makes for a consistently captivating experience.

We can cater to groups of up to 12 people. Our guides are very experienced and know this area of the island better than anyone else. We offer the Yak to Track challenge in a short (2.6km kayak + 3.6 km run) and a long course (2.6km kayak + 8.5km run). This course will challenge any team and is aimed at building group dynamic and exposing others to new experiences in nature, benefiting personal health and fitness.
